Energy Web Partners with Aventus to Advance Energy Transition with Web3
Energy Web is a global non-profit on a mission to accelerate the energy transition by developing and deploying open-source web3 technologies that help companies unlock business value from clean and distributed energy resources.
Customer Challenge:
Energy Web aims to make the global energy transition successful through digital technology that enables a fundamentally different way of working, radically reducing the cost and complexity of coordinating multiple companies with different roles, objectives and IT systems.
With Aventus:
With Aventus, Energy Web launched Energy Web X, a new decentralized technology that enables more efficient and effective services to its clients while achieving its goal of decarbonizing the grid.
Aventus deployed its key architecture for Energy Web, including the gateway API, block explorer, and governance application:
- The Gateway API allows Energy Web's clients, including Shell, EDF, Volkswagen and California ISO, to connect to the ecosystem easily and quickly via a familiar API web entry point.
- The block explorer enhances transparency by enabling developers to query on-chain data.
- The governance application will democratize and decentralize the Energy Web network by enabling holders of EWT (Energy Web's native token) to vote on all significant Energy Web development decisions.
Blockchain brings enhanced scalability, speed, interoperability and security to the energy ecosystem – crucial in an environment with evolving objectives, a growing number of stakeholders, and an increasingly diverse resource mix.
Jesse Morris, CEO at Energy Web, said: “Energy Web’s technology already powers decarbonization in dozens of countries, but in order to effect global change, we need to take our technology to the next level. Aventus’ in-depth understanding of our needs, flexibility in creating a solution and high-quality technology stack made the partnership an obvious one. We’re thrilled to be working with such an innovative team and can’t wait to see where this partnership takes Energy Web.”
